I am sorry to have to say this sad, sad news. In the early hours of 20 th February 09, my handsome fella Max, passed away in his sleep, outside my bedroom. I love this animal with all my heart and soul, and i look forward to the day when we can both walk over the green hills and to the Damns again.
He was and always will be, the most handsome German Shepherd boy dog, ever, and he helped me get through some terrible times with my ex husband, and was also a great pal to Dan, and play mate to Bracken. He never gave up trying to hump her, even though she had been spayed, he loved her and she knew it! He was a rescue dog. We got him at 14 months old. Been hit over the head with metal crowbars and allsorts we heard. He didn't know how to play, or interact with other dogs when he came to us, but our Misty helped him to learn these things, and he never looked back! xx
He helped me after my surgery, in ways not many will understand. And he gave a fantastic cuddle too. His favourite food was raw carrots, and i'm sure would have been happy to eat those alone!
My guardian angels came for him, as i asked them to stay with him. He knew he wasn't well, and the vet had booked him in to be euthanised late that Friday tea time. I asked that my angels would guide him safely and stay with him until he reached his new home, one where he would be free from illness and any pain. I take some comfort in that he passed at home, in familiar surroundings, knowing that he was loved more than human words can ever say.
I can hear Max sometimes, and i'm sure Bracken can see him too. An amazing dog Max, and he will be dearly missed by all of our family and friends. xx
Love you handsome puppy dog,
